Winderabandi Point Campground

Winderabandi Campground sits beside the Winderabandi Sanctuary Zone of Ningaloo Marine Park, offering soft sand campsites and beach access for small boats and kayaks (4WD only). The shoreline is a special purpose zone where shore-based fishing is permitted.

Winderabandi Point Campground is a remote beachfront campground on Ningaloo Station offering one of the most immersive reef and wildlife experiences along the coast. Expect true off-grid camping, soft sand access and wide-open ocean views. It rewards preparation – and punishes complacency.

  • Bookings are essential and must be made online
  • One campsite per booking, for personal use only
  • Booking window:
    • Up to 180 days in advance
    • Same-day bookings allowed (subject to availability and mobile coverage)

    • 28 nights at other times

Campground Rules

  • Bring a sealed-unit chemical or composting toilet
  • Bag-based portable toilets and burying waste are prohibited
  • Dump point is for chemical toilet waste only
  • Campfires allowed in self-contained fire rings when conditions permit
    • Not permitted on days of HIGH fire danger or above (check Emergency WA)
  • BYO firewood – collecting wood is prohibited
  • Dogs permitted on a leash
  • Generators permitted
  • Carry out all rubbish – no bins provided
  • ATVs and off-road vehicles not permitted

  • Yardie Creek crossing involves soft, shifting sand and tidal conditions – not suitable for all vehicles or drivers
  • High-clearance 4WD with low-range gears required
  • Reduce tyre pressure for soft sand; no reinflation facility available on exit
